• 1 cm slice ginger
  • 1/2 cm slice of turmeric
  • 1/2 lemon, skin and pith removed
  • 200g filtered water
  • 10g raw honey

Method:

  1. Place first 4 ingredients into processor and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into saucepan and heat gently before adding honey and stirring to dissolve honey. (If using a Thermomix you can heat it in the bowl but add the honey last.)

Tips:

Certain chemical compounds in fresh ginger help your body ward off germs, and they may also keep viruses at bay. Ginger’s antibacterial power may keep oral bacteria from growing; helps if you’re trying to ease a queasy stomach (especially during pregnancy); breaks up and gets rid of built-up gas in your intestines; is said to tame muscle soreness over time; is anti-inflammatory; is said to slow down the growth of some cancers; may help lower blood sugars and cholesterol; eases period pain; helps your body fight off chronic diseases; and relieves indigestion.

Raw honey is a good source of antioxidants and has antibacterial and antifungal properties; helps heal wounds; is a phytonutrient powerhouse; helps with digestive issues and soothes a sore throat.
