- 500g water, filtered
- 250g sweet potato and/or pumpkin, peeled and roughly chopped
- 1 clove garlic, peeled
- ½ small brown onion, peeled and roughly chopped
- salt and pepper to season
- ½ tsp smoky or sweet paprika
- 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp savoury yeast flakes
- Place water in TM bowl with vegetables in the steamer basket. Set basket in position and cook 20mins/100C/speed 2.
- Save the cooking liquid and blend half with the veggies adding salt and pepper to taste. (Add more liquid if necessary.)
- Add savoury yeast flakes, paprika, apple cider vinegar and blend for 10 secs/speed 8 or until smooth.
- Adjust seasoning if necessary and serve with crackers while still warm or when cold.
Traditional Method:
- Place vegetables and nuts in the top of a steamer and steam until veggies are soft.
- Drain the veggies and nut mix reserving the cooking liquid.
- Place veggies and 150ml of the cooking liquid into a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Add savoury yeast flakes, paprika, vinegar and season with salt and pepper and blend together then adjust seasoning if necessary and serve with crackers while still warm or when cold.
